Planning your wedding is overwhelming – trust us, we’ve been there!
Honesty, planning our wedding was like a part-time job – which you’re trying to squeeze around your real job. Madly Googling during each lunch-break, spending Saturdays dashing around wedding venues and sneakily using the work photocopier to print, scan, send and copy a few…ok, a lot, of wedding related things.
Pulling your dream day together can, at times, feel like a nightmare – but it’s ok – because we’ve got your back. We’ve been keeping an eye out for you and have compiled a list of some of the best, most creative, professional, fun and will-make-your-day-amazing wedding vendors we’ve had the pleasure of working with.
We also have some helpful tips and tricks that we’d love to share with you.
The Best Wedding Vendors We’ve Worked With
Ok – that title gives us anxiety – playing favourites really isn’t our thing – and we honestly highly recommend 99.9% of the people we’ve ever worked with, what can we say – our couples are awesome and they have great taste. But these legends really stood out to us – not just because they are professional and friendly but because they go above and beyond – trust us…wait, we really mean that, TRUST US – these people are amazing and you will be sending us Christmas cards for the rest of your lives thanking us for recommending them to you.
You May Kiss – Gary is, hands down, one of the best celebrants we’re seen in action. Not only is he a celebrant but he’d also an MC – he’ll stick around and event coordinate your day – we’ve had the pleasure of working with him and we had to stop ourselves from getting ‘we love Gary’ tattoos on the way home. Book him and thank us later.
My Day, My Way Weddings – If you’re getting married on the Mid-North Coast of NSW and a more relaxed, boho, intimate wedding is more your style get in touch with Leonie, she’ll create a magical ceremony for you.
Fiona + Bobby Photography – Fiona and Bobby were our wedding photographers so they have a special place in our hearts. They are a husband and wife duo, with a real unique edge to their photography, which was one of the top reasons why we picked them for our wedding. They are creative through and through and big lovers of love plus they are wonderful to work with – they are so patient, we know, we sent them a bazillion emails and they were the best.
Blood and Bone Photography – In our opinion, photography is best when it’s raw, candid and edgy. When each photo not only captures the moment but also the emotion in that moment. If you’re after a bold change to stock-standard wedding photography then you need to take a look at Naomi’s work – Naomi shot our wedding invitation photos for us and we’ve worked and filmed alongside her – enough to know we’d love to work with her a whole lot more.
Jennifer Burch Photography – A great photographer shouldn’t stress you out, they should be professional, fun and make you feel relaxed on your wedding day – that’s Jen. She’s a dream to work with and her photos are absolutely gorgeous.
My Little Love Photography – Adrian and Liz are a lot of fun to work with. They take brilliant candid photos of all the moments you missed. There’s nothing stressful about working with these two – they’ll make your wedding feel easy and you’ll adore their photography style and approach to your big day.
Eliza Jade Photography – Eliza is a true artist with a camera – her photos are arresting, cinematic (if photos can be cinematic?) and heartfelt. With over a decade of experience in the wedding industry – you’re memories-of-a-lifetime are in safe hands with Eliza.
We promised ourselves we’d keep this list short…but we’re going to squeeze in just one more.
Live Photography – We recently filmed our friends wedding and they told us they’d booked their photographer because they won an engagement shoot with them through a wedding expo. With such a great selection of photographers in our area (hello – just check out the links above) we were wondering if maybe they hadn’t shopped around enough – then we met Cindy on the morning of the wedding and we were floored by how freakin’ talented, friendly and incredible she is. The moral of the story is don’t judge your friends for booking someone you haven’t heard of and check our Cindy’s work because she’s a million kinds of awesome.
The Forest Chapel – The Forest Chapel is a family owned and run wedding ceremony venue. The Chapel is a unique homegrown site, perfect for couples who are after a natural, relaxed outdoor wedding. The Forest is located in Terrigal on the Central Coast, NSW.
Cupitt’s Winary – Cupitt’s is a small family run boutique winery, brewery, fromagerie and restaurant nestled in the hills behind the town of Milton on the NSW South Coast. They are amazing – the staff go above and beyond and the views over the vineyard to Burrill Lake and the Budawang Ranges are extraordinary.
Lily Ever After – It’s rare that we actually get to meet the florists behind the amazing flowers we film which means there’s something extra special about the flowers that really catch our eye. Bec created the most divine flower crown you ever did see for one of our brides and we’ve been huge fans of her work ever since.
The Olive Branch Floral & Event Stylists – When you’re not a florist, or a big flower expert, it’s easy for all flower arrangements to kinda look the same to you – like who cares what florist your get – they’re all same same…but every time an Olive Branch floral arrangement hits my Instagram screen I instantly can tell it’s Katlyn’s work – which is why we can say, hand on heart, The Olive Branch know how to style flowers in the most delicious, divine, heartbreakingly gorgeous way.
Hair + Make Up
Hair By Sil – Sil has years of experience as a hairdresser and hair stylist. She’s done it all and is cool and collected under pressure – just what you want during those getting ready moments.
Alicia’s Personal Hair Design – Alicia’s hair designs are gorgeous and she’s a complete delight to work with .
Vanessa Puglisi – Vanessa would have to be the sweetest, loveliest make up artist we’ve worked with. She’s a pro and fantastic at what she does.
Renee Sayed – If you’re after something a little more dramatic and bold for your hair and make up we recommend you take a look at Renee’s work – she’s got an amazing portfolio.
Rosie + James Music – These two are a talented pair. They are an acoustic duo, DJ’s and they MC. They’re also cool, fun and sound amazing.
Tillee Music – These guys are not only amazing musicians – they will also write you a song – you send them your story and they’ll write you a song and preform it at your wedding. OMG – how cool is that! When they told us they do this we basically wanted to steal an ice-cream truck, with a roof top megaphone, and drive around the streets screaming at everyone to book them right now. Where were people like this when we got married?!
Accapella Bridal – Connie is one of the nicest and most beautiful people you’ll meet in the wedding industry. Not only does she have decades of experience she’s also a seamstress – which is a big deal – because she can personally alter your dress to fit you perfectly and make special, just-for-you, changes – completely amazing.
Sweet Angels Bridal Wear – Kerrie is an amazing advocate to have in your corner when you’re looking for a dress to suit you. She’ll take the time you need to help you find your perfect fit plus she also provides event management services so she can help you pull things together minus the stress.
We also highly recommend you check these vendors out – we haven’t worked with them all…yet…but we’re hoping you might be able to help us out with that!
